Southwest Alabama Medical Center will soon be breaking ground on a brand new hospital facility near Thomasville's South Industrial Park, the first new rural hospital in Alabama in 30 years.
New doctors have been added by the hospital, including an orthopaedic surgeon and internal medicine specialist. A state-of-the-art 16-slice CT scanner was added by the hospital this year and all of the hospital's imaging has been updated to a new digital storage system.
